View Full Version : 1968 DeVille pedal support bracket...

Hello. Yesterday I thought I would replace the brakebooster in my 1968 DeVille. Removing the old one went quite easy but when attempting to install the new booster the four screws which goes through the firewall just wouldn´t fit. I soon realized that the holes in the pedal support bracket no longer lined up with the holes in the firewall (!). So my question is : Is there supposed to be "tension" on the bracket so that one will have to bend it and at the same time push the booster screws through the firewall (and bracket) ? This would mean it's a two-persons job and I can't find anything about this in the shop manual..
Thankful for all the advice I can get.
Cheers from Sweden !!
