Swaping the 307 SBO for a 305 SBC(it was free). I have decided to keep it carbed because it seems alot easier.

So I have took the engine out(305 from donor), drained it, took it down to the headgaskets, cleaned it, painted it and am putting it back together now.

The questions I have are:
Should I do the rod bearings if the engine ran just fine? I was just gonna do gaskets.

Also, What kind of carb/intake setup should I go with for a daily driver? I have never did any carb work before and want something that can bolt up really easy. Some of the intakes i have looked at dont seem to have a spot for EGR, Do I move it somewhere? I just want this to be as easy as possible since its my first engine swap and the Caddy is my baby. Please help

Go with the Edelbrock Performer (you can get it with EGR) and an electric choke Edlebrock 600. You will be very happy with how it runs.

Wait a minute Buck. Have you really checked this out? From what I recall the 307 & 305 have different bolt patterns per trans mount application, unless they changed things in later engines. Are you changing engines & transmissions? What year is that 305? If it isn't up to date for that '90, it may not pass emissions, if required in your state. Last conversion I did turned into a continuing run to the pick-a-part for items needed in order to bring the engine up to the standards for the year model of the car.
