: Third Gen Fest 2008

Well, these are some of the pictures from Third Gen Fest (Camaro's and Firebirds) that happened Memorial Day Weekend. It was a blast.

Here's what I remember: 3 out of 4 '92 Camaro's with the 1LE option where there. That option is basically the one that makes your car balls out fast. It is AC delete, radio delete and it adds a bunch of performance goodies.

There was also an early 90's Camaro Convertable with the 350 in it, which was also rare. I can't remember exact numbers, but less than 100 were made. Anyway, it was a bunch of rednecks drinkin beer and havin a blast.

The first few pictures here are of a firebird with a $9000 paint job. Freakin amazing.

Here is a good close up of my buddies '87 Iroc. It ain't the prettiest but it gets the job done.

And the best video of all time.

Never been a huge fan of the F Bodies, but a white early '90s Camaro Z28 Convertible is a thing of absolute beauty.

Me loves some TPI 3rd gen F-Body. But it must have the TPI V-8.

I'm not a red neck :p but I love those cars...

Very nice
but it is always shameful to do a 1 wheel burn out....

Whilst the 9,000.00 paint job on the Firebird might be interesting to look at, this is the best looking car of the bunch if you ask me... This is why I am anal about original paint.

The 1989 Turbo TA with the Buick 3.8 is the only 3rd Gen Id own.

Gray was actually one of the rarest, yet best looking colors ever on a Camaro/Firebird. How many times have you actually seen a gray one?

There were many other cars, but I didn't have time to post all the pictures. Most of the pictures came from my friend anyway.

I'd love me some GTA action, preferably a 1991-92 after the front fascia was redone.

There were a lot more Camaro's there than firebirds. I don't think there were any there from 91-92. The only other rare car that was there was a Camaro Berlinetta. It was the top of the line one with the digital dash and stuff.

I loves me some goofy '80s era digital dashboards.

I had a black 1989 Formula 350. It was a fun car. When looking I test drove a burnt orange IROC with matching trim on the IROC rims. I wanted that car SOOOO bad when I was 16 and that is still the rarest color I have come across. Only seen 1 other on the road ever.

Wish granted. If you look, the turn signals are actually buttons on the dashboard instead of a stick on the column.

There's a doc at work that has one of these with 25k on it. He doesn't drive it much I guess to preserve it as a collector's item. He says its scary fast.

Wow... I thought the turn signals on the E65 7 Series were a disaster... but this takes it to a whole new level.

Ahh that's delecious! In a very awkward '80s vintage GM way....

On a related note, remember how my friend's little brother was looking for a third gen V8 Camaro? Well I was talking to my friend last night, and he says they've pretty much found the car they're gonna buy....it's a 1992 Camaro RS 25th Anniversary Edition in black with black cloth interior and the TBI 305 V8 and 68k miles. I'm pretty excited about it.

That sounds like a fantastic car. I am glad it has a cloth interior. My friend's IROC has the leather and it is just not worth it in that car. You slide around too much when taking corners at the speeds the car was designed for. That 305 TBI is one hell of an engine though. It ain't a 350, but it will have more than enough power for that car. I test drove that convertible the guy down the street from me was selling and it is a very nice car to drive. It was also a 5-speed. :)

I remember taking an '89 Firebird with the TBI-305 for a quick spin when I was 16. It was quick enough, but it didn't have the "right now" attitude of the 4.9 V8. Interestingly enough, a 4.9 deVille and a TBI F-Body would be very, very close in the 1/4 mile....high 15's, low 16's.

We need to get another meet together for the end of the summer so we can find out exactly what a 4.9 DeVille will run in the quarter. :)
