Need a little help fellas - my '79 is blowing the gas gauge fuse over and over again. It blows within seconds of me turning the ignition key.

This fuse also takes out the seat belt chime and low oil pressure light, FWIW. I am able to drive with no problems, and no other systems seem to be affected.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help.

A pinched wire somewhere. Remove the seat belt chime, see if it no longer blows the fuse. This is a case where you have to inspect ALL wiring related to these 3 circuits. Logic says to disconnect each item one at a time till the fuse no longer blows. So, remove the chime module, try fuse. If it blows, disconnect wiring to fuel tank sender, try fuse. then if still blows inspect printed circuit board for oil pressure light. A short is always individual to each car so you will probably get 10 opinions but because we cannt "see" your car, we cannt direct you.
