It's a northern sport of conflict where every player gets two knives and a club. They get together for a fight and eventually a game breaks out.

thats what happens when you pay to win the cup by hiring a bunch of veterans....

So there you go, F. Your premise that Detroit bought their Cup is bull. I was even surprised at how much of the roster was drafted by the Red Wings. And they only had a couple FA signings, many of the guys they got from other teams were through trades. And there were a number of other guys on the roster who didn't play in the playoffs or played very little, but even for them, they were mostly drafted by Detroit.

Sorry F, but you are very wrong...

Rafalski, Lilja, Maltby and Samuelsson were pivotal players, especially Rafalski...
Ill concede Fillipula and Franzen. But, you make the assertion that all the players above stayed in the organization....not true..nearly half were traded off to other teams before they returned.

Bought and paid for.....you made my point for me.

FWhether they stayed in the organization or not, there are very few signed as FA. Most of the trades they made involved other star players or very high picks. Giving up a lot to get a lot. As for buying a Cup, you've proven nothing...maybe the '02 team, but definitely NOT the '08 team...
