I just purchased a 1967 coupe deville 2dr convertible 2 days ago and have a few questions.

Where is the best place to get a new top at?

The car will fire right up but after it gets warmed up, it then wont start. Sounds like a car thats alredy started and your turning it over again(very loud). I let the car cool down and now I just hear a spinning sound. Is this the starter?

Did these cars just come with a 429 only b/c the guy i bought it from stated it had a 472 in it.

Thanks for your help in advance and i will get pics soon.:cool2:

check the starter make sure it's shimmed/bolted in all the way. i had a similar problem with my suburban, it would start but it would take a while to crank.

it was the starter. Anyone know where to get a brake booster at for this car. The brakes go down to the floor and its hard to stop and its also starting to lock up

I just bought a brake booster for my 1968 DeVille from www.rockauto.com for only like $75. It should be the same for 1967-68. Just make sure you buy the correct booster depending on if your car has front drum brakes or disc brakes. Good luck from Stockholm, Sweden !

The 1967's came with a 429, and it was used for all models. 1968 was the first year for the 472 - maybe he swapped??
