: My new baby

Those who went to the midwest meet back in April know of the struggles I have had with my other car and its tranny. I finally got it back yesterday, after nearly 2.5 months in the shop. I was searching around on Craigslist and came across this beauty and thought it was too good to pass up.

Here she is. 1995 Sedan DeVille with 57,7XX miles on it. It has the 4.9 engine. I paid $4000. IMO, you cannot find a nicer car for the money. The paint job is immaculate with only a few rock chips up front. I haven't even waxed it yet and it still shines like it belongs in a show room. The leather is also perfect. It doesn't have any stress marks on it. The drivers side mirror takes a bit of getting used to though because it is actually tinted gold for the autodimming thing. You can see it in the picture of the rear.

It even came with a video tape, a Cadillac calculator, a Cadillac notepad and a Cadillac pen. I also have the original window sticker, but it was hard to get a good picture of it and our scanner is broken.

I am still keeping the Fleetwood, but it will be mostly for my dad's use since his van is getting too old. And no cracks about the Lexus license plate frame, I haven't had time to get a new one from Heritage yet.

Dang! What a beaut! One of the best color combos IMO....Carmine Red with the Neutral leather interior. Don't ya feel so proud? Man, this takes me back to the day I bought my deVille. It was about that clean too, but I had another 40k on it.

Now I have an interior that can hold its own against Brian's at the next meet. :)

I am also the only one in my group of friends that has a cupholder in thier car. Not that I'll ever be using them of course.

Yeah, I'd be very curious to see what that runs in the 1/4.

Awesome find. Those are great miles for a '95.

Nice ride , congrats on your purchase and have many happy miles

Its not a slow car, thats for sure. Me and my friend with the IROC work at the same Wal-Mart and we were messing around on the way home from work last night. Rolling start from about 40 we went to about 80. His IROC has the L98, which is all torque and no horsepower, so I was damn near even with him to 65, which is when his car shifts to third and then he blew my ass out of the water. By the end he was only about 1.5 car lengths ahead of me. If we had done the same from a dead stop I would have been at least 4 and maybe more lengths behind him.

When I had my '92, I raced a 1987-90 (before they redesigned the front fascia) Trans Am GTA from a stop. I wasn't sure if it had the standard L98 350 with the four speed auto, or the optional TBI 305 with the five speed, but I hung right with him until about 40-45 then he pulled away. Hope that helps. I was never ever unsatisfied with the amount of torque the 4.9L puts out...

WOW. Great price considering the amazing condition!

06-04-08, 02:54 PM
Nice find! Better yet not a Northstar, I love the torquey 4.9. Clean those carpets, they are unfitting of such a beauty!

06-04-08, 03:20 PM
^ Yah yah. Its really hard to keep anything clean around here. Its been very windy and rainy lately so it blows crap out of the trees and then it sticks to your feet and then it muddies up your car.

HOLY NUTSACK OF A DECAPITATED SQUIRREL! Bro, that thing is bad ass! I was looking for something like that, my deville was a 98 and it came with 68k miles, and yours is a 95, got damn man! GOOD LUCK WITH IT! Now throw some rims on that beastie and youll be picking up girls in no time. :cool2:

Nope. I am one of those anal retentive people who insists on keeping it as stock as possible. The only thing I am planning on doing when I have the time is installing some foglights in the gap near the bottom of the bumper and wiring them in so they work as DRL's. I just have to find reverse solenoid that will turn off when it recieves power, so when I turn on the headlights the fog lights turn off. It will be a lot easier to do it on this car than on my other car because the fuse panel is in the engine bay.

The only other thing that needs attention is the speakers. I'm just gonna replace the factory speakers with some nicer sounding ones. The factory speakers sound great when the volume is at a reasonable level, but if I turn it up even a little bit the sounds starts to distort. I need to get some bass blockers for the front door speakers.

Nice find, man. Beautiful car.

Fantastic find... Kudos

I've oft thought about looking for one of those late 4.9... they're only getting harder and harder to find - especially in as good condition as yours. Hmmm... I think I need to start browsing CL and AutoTrader again....

They are great cars...I'm willing to roll the dice w/the N*, but the seats are PERFECT for endless highway miles. Plus it has one of the most spacious back seats there is.

Great color combo. Mine is gold/tan with buttercream interior. Watch out for that plastic side panel/housing for the recliner control...those are bad about cracking.

Amen. One of my other friends just bought a new car yesterday. It is a 1985 Cadillac Brougham. My car actually has more rear seat room than his.

The room inside of my Concours is on a whole other level from what I had in my Roadmaster (which I would think would be similar to the 1980s Brougham).

How does the '95 compare to the '88?

How does the '95 compare to the '88?

Kicks it ass hands down. Remember, the late 80's DeVilles and FWD Fleetwoods were the smallest of their kind ever made. Hell, the Catera is bigger than my Fleetwood and I'm willing to bet an Eldo is pretty close to the same size.

06-08-08, 12:46 PM
If I remember right, the '89-93 had a lot of room inside (comparable to the '95). I'm surprised there is that much difference.
