With the gas prices the way they are I was looking and came across a few of them. If I could get one for really cheap I would store my sts until the weekend and drive it during the week.

The above post is truly indicative of how desparate we have become: an STS man is contemplating a Cimmarron because of gas prices.

Lol and I can't settle for anything but a cadillac. So I was thinking that would be the most fuel efficient. And if I get a good enough deal I will wrench on it and get it to handle e85 result even cheaper gas.

Why not buy a Catera?

Chicano-Mexicano
06-03-08, 10:14 PM
I saw that car up 2 months ago he wanted $14,500 for it then so he has come down a bit but still way to much for a tarted up cavalier and the Catera doesn't really score major points in the mpg section 17mpg in the city V 20 mpg in my Eldorado though it'll probably beat it on the highway but probably not by much now if it was a V6 one then it may be a little more tempting.

06-03-08, 10:50 PM
My wife had a new 2000 Catera .......gas mileage was not its' strong suit; i.e. didn't do much, if any better than the Sevilles. The Buick Regal with the 3.8 was really much better, as high a 34 mpg on the highway!

That car doesn't even have the nice options or the updated exterior of the newer model, and to top it all off it's YELLOW.

They are semi acceptable in dark blue exterior with just about any other color of interior.

Also, wtf is up with the mileage? "105k but physically driven only 65". Soooo it was either TOWED around behind an RV or Ferris Bueller got a hold of it.

No KBB value exists for this car; even KBB doesn't think anyone would want this piece.

EVERYONE that was on a design team for the current Lincoln crop should be standing in the unemployment line. The X is horrid. The Z is even worse. I would rather have a Kings Ranch F150 than an LT with that ugly grill and the new Town Car has zero style and looks like a barge.

I get Fords at employee pricing and a Navi is the only one I would even consider owning and even it isnt what I would want.

Lincoln is a rebadged baseline Ford that an idiot paid $15K too much for. The last generation Town Cars where nothing but expensive Crown Victorias. The Navigator is only an overdressed and overpriced Expedition. If I was going to own any of these, I would just own the Ford version and save both my wallet and my common sense.

I think you're referring to its "successor" the MKZ formerly "Mark Z" formerly Zephyr which is merely a rebadged Fusion.

The LS did share platforms with a few other cars, but they were not run of the mill Fords, and they were ENTIRELY different. The Jaguar S Type and the Ford Thunderbird revival both also used the DEW98 platform and more importantly, are *all* REAR wheel drive and available with V8s. The sole remaining vehicle built off this fabulous platform is the Jaguar XF, which now rides on a heavily revised version of it.

Yes, that is the one. Lincoln truly angered me when they stole the CTS instrument panel and adapted it into their MKR concept.

I would still be in a Lincoln if they had manned up and put the 4.2L S/C from the S-Type R in the LS and kept the line.

I liked my LS very much but HATE the Z with a passion. It has possibly the ugliest rear end on the road today.
