I joined this forum a few months ago, but never posted anything since I hadn't gotten the car yet. Now that she's officially mine, I just wanted to say hi!

My grandmother always wanted me to have her 1967 DeVille convertible, and she signed the title over to me before she passed away a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, my house's garage isn't deep enough to fit, so I left the car with in my grandfather's garage until I figured out what to do with it. But now, after his passing last year, it forced the issue as my uncle works to fix up and sell the house.

Until I figure out something more permanent, my neighbor across the street is going to rent his extra-long garage to me, so she won't be outside for very long. Don't worry! :)

She runs pretty well, but I'm having the family mechanic give her a once-over while I came back home to get her insured and registered, and I'm heading back to my mom's place tomorrow to put the plates on. I've never driven anything that large before (except maybe the UHaul I used when I moved into my house); my friends keep telling me I'll need tugboats to help me park ;)

I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions when I start cleaning her up. I'll do my best to use the search function before I post any of them, though :D

Congrats, and welcome. Treasure that car forever, and don't modify it!

As you run into issues, let us know. There are lots of knowledgeable people around here to help out...

Beautiful classic Caddy! I always love to see well maintained Classic Caddys from a time gone by when Cadillac made them mammoth size.
There were no worries of gas prices and miles per gallon when that beauty was made.

Thanks, guys! There is some rust here and there, the paint needs some work, the gaskets need replacing, etc. so she's not perfect, but she is overall in really nice shape, and I'm definitely looking to keep her stock. My regular car (a '97 BMW M3) is highly modified, so I've already "been there, done that" and I didn't have a mortgage back then, either.

I'm glad that the fuel economy can still be measured in "miles per gallon" with this beast. I was anticipating "gallons per mile" ;)

My last classic car project was a '73 MG Midget. I'm thinking that it might fit in the trunk of the DeVille. :D

(EDIT: Finally! A post that didn't get flagged as spam!!)

Beautiful Cadillac.
Maybe she could help you out with your mortgage by you renting her out to people who want to be seen in it in parades with the top down and all that kind of thing.
Or for weddings as bride and groom "escape" the church?
Of course you'd have to do the driving!
But she'd be exactly the kind of car for such occasions.
Check it out with your insurance agent and see if it's worth it.

Very Nice starter and welcome to the wacky world of Cadillac Owners. We're all nuts of differing types. One CAUTION - if you get the bug as bad as some of us have, you'll want more. Then you'll need a really big garage.

Thanks, guys! Sorry I haven't been around much; work's been kicking my butt lately (and will continue to for a couple more months). One of these days, I might actually get a chance to take the Caddy out for a drive...
