I'm torn. I love coupes, but I think I'm with JEM on this one. Nice to have choices, though!

Oooooo... How about a hardtop convertible?

It's fugly. How about a 550+ hp engine for the XLR-V

The XLR-V is far fuglier, and the XLR in general for all its Vette underbits is more than a bit crude for the market it is selling into.

It was, like the last CTS, a 'transitional' model - an effort to move the Cadillac brand upmarket done by an organization still trying to figure out where they were going.

Call it a learning experience for Cadillac and cross your fingers that the next one - assuming there is one - will be better.

So can I assume it'll be late 2009 before I'll have an Coupe V?

I am almost fixed on the V-coupe then.
If they will not come up with a TT36 by then, I will probably go for the V. Though the gas prices have been rising like crazy lately.
The diesel got more expensive than the gasoline, so diesel will be no more option either. Over here you also pay an extra tax on a diesel car to compensate, so there was like a mileage point where diesel would be worthwhile driving. But the current diesel price makes it very slim. For couriers and taxes it is still profitable, but for my daily commute I rather go gasoline.

Not believing the exhaust in the pics will be same as production, a departure from any previous Caddy model.

Then you may want to tell them to stop testing the car with the exhaust like that. :sneaky:

My dealer is still saying late 09, but they've proven numerous times to be superdummies.

I sure hope you're right, the sooner the better! :)
