I have a 1965 Mustang coupe that I am planning to put a 500 in. The 500 is out of 75 Coupe de Ville. The plan is to put a Superide Coilover IFS kit from Street Rod Engineering on the car. I also have a 425 that I will be using the oil pan from. Is there anything else that is useful off the 425 that could be used on a 500?

I really just wanted to introduce myself and my project because I am sure I will have plenty of questions in the near future. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

Everyone uses the pullies of the 425.. it lets you get rid of the air pump..If you have a 75 motor you will only need the crank and waterpump pullies...the others will line up ok...

Sounds like a fun project. But, before you get to far - have you taken some basic measurements? My neighbour has a 65 with a 393 (stroked 351) in it and it was a tight fit. Cad engines are wide, very wide. Especially, if your stang originally came with a 289. I'm not a pro on this subject, but I'd hate to see you start cutting stuff up. With all the torque the Caddy will make, it has to be structurally sound too.

Take lots of pictures please. We'll want to keep track of this one.

Good luck, and as my dad would say " measure twice, cut once - carefully.

Cool project,
Bovey

With the IFS kit we have to take out the shock towers, so we should have plenty of room. As far as stiffening the car I got subframe connectors and an outer rocker support kit from global west. I am trying to avoid a role cage because I want the car to be as much of a sleeper as possible. So I am going to try stiffen the car up as much as possible from the underside.
