Has anyone driven these two different drive trains? If so, is the added cost of the 305+ HP engine worth it? Is the added HP that much more impressive?

MReiland 05-29-08, 01:58 PM It's a small but noticable increase that you can feel. I feel it's worth the difference, especially if you order all wheel drive. Cadillac Tony 05-29-08, 02:02 PM It's largely unnoticeable in normal driving, but for midrange punch (30-50) the DI engine is a little more peppy. HOPALONG 05-29-08, 03:32 PM da_thrilla. A brat is NOT the word I would use to describe your obnoxious response. A "search" of what? As for the other educated and polite responses, I thank you. Zymurgy 05-29-08, 04:43 PM HOPALONG, you may not be aware of it, but the forum has search capability. Use the "Search" link in the Blue toolbar of links near the top of the page, or use the "Search this Cadillac Forum" from the main page of any sub-forum on this site. There have been other threads asking this same question. By doing the search, you could have found your answer immediately, without having to wait for members to respond to a question that has already been asked. For example, searching on "engine" reveals the following threads: Comparing the engines (http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-cts-forum-2008-beyond/141136-comparing-engines.html) 304 hp DI performance (http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-cts-forum-2008-beyond/138466-304-hp-di-performance.html) 2009 CTS Engine Choices - 263 hp or 304 hp direct (http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-cts-forum-2008-beyond/138434-2009-cts-engine-choices-263-hp.html) ... Southern 05-29-08, 04:57 PM And ALL forums have two unwritten rules. 1-Use their search engine and base your questions on what you discover there.......all searches will not be uniformly successful...... 2-And even if somebody calls you a brat for ignoring rule #1..........don't make your second post calling somebody "obnoxious". You don't have any standing here (yet) and it is all too easy to put you on ignore, for you are the one who is perceived as obnoxious. Ronster 05-29-08, 05:23 PM pertinent thread that might not be easily found by searching: http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums/cadillac-cts-forum-2008-beyond/135163-car-driver.html HOPALONG 05-29-08, 09:23 PM Thanks ronstar. da_thrilla 05-30-08, 03:52 AM da_thrilla. A brat is NOT the word I would use to describe your obnoxious response. A "search" of what? As for the other educated and polite responses, I thank you. I stand by what I said. If you had just scrolled down the page you would have found at least 3 threads all discussing the engine variations, their differences, and whether or not it is worth getting it. With that said, Loosen up. This is a forum, not the court of law. If what I said was "obnoxious" - then I did not mean it obnoxiously - hence using the word BRAT against myself. | |
