Is XM NavWeather standard on 2008 CTS with navigation? I have seen post talking about it, but did not see anything on Cadillac web site. Also if you go to XM web site, they on refer to some Acrua models with the service but Cadillac. So I am confused.

you already said it yourself. XM NavWeather not Cadillac NavWeather. Pretty sure a nav wont generate data itself out of no where. Rather, it gathers info provide by XM and output them to you.

But you have to pay a subscription to someone. Is the service provided by XM?

yes it is available and yes it is on the Cadillac website. click on Features.
however xm nav/traffic is only in "select markets" (large metropolitan areas).

And even then it is on only "select Highways" in some areas.
I never got any notifications round here, so I investigated and it turns out that in my area, North Ft Myers Florida, it only works on Pine Island road.
And they wanted me to pay for THAT?

In the Chicago area the traffic conditions including construction seem to be limited to the expressways.
interesting a couple weeks ago it alerted me to an accident on the northwest tollway 2 miles before I got to the scene.
what I like about the weather is that it can show conditions along a selected navigation route. I don't mind the $4 a month.
