Does anyone know what size wheels can you upgrade to before the dealer voids the warranty? I read a post on the forum saying that a dealer was charging $35,000.00 for an optional 24 inch wheel package. Does that mean they will warranty up to 24 inches. I have an 03 Ext with 23's and debating whether or not to take them off before getting service.
The only warranty issue that they could argue about would be brake problems and suspension issues, and some dealerships are better than others. :)

My mistake, they were $17,000.00 optional 24 inch wheels for an ESV. But I guess $35,000.00 wouldn't be unbelievable for a dealer mark-up :D

Shouldn't it be that whatever aftermarket parts you install, that stock part gets voided? I.E. air intake or exhaust (besides Corsa)?

That is true, but larger and heavier wheels and tires out added stress on your brakes and suspension, I have a cutomer that warpped his rotors twice after installing 24", the dealer would not replace or repair them under warranty.

hcvone, i think you're right about it only voiding the warranty if the aftermarket part causes the problem. i also found out from the dealer, if it's a gm or gm affliated part, it won't affect the warranty. i guess gm approves some parts by some companies for use and they will not affect your warranty. that's one of the reasons i'll probably go with the wheels i've been looking at.
That is correct, if you buy larger wheels and tires from the dealer how could they not cover those under warranty. ;)

SPeaking of voiding warranty I put a K&N FIPK intake system on my truck and I'm getting mixed opinions on if this voids my warrranty. I was told that K&N products dont void warranty. anyone know about this

i've heard both sides of that also. why would the K&N void a warranty?

It really depends on your dealership, the intake should not void your warranty, but if they could prove that the K&N sucked water or something into your engine they may not pay for the repair. I always ask my dealer that does my warranty work if a mod that I am thinking about doing will cause any warranty problems.

Its not just the K&N filter its the whole intake and you do remove the factory cold air box so i guess thats where it gets sticky??
