View Full Version : My Baby Has Arrived!!!!!!!!!!! ngiardina 05-22-08, 07:23 PM http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/4990/img0324of7.jpgMy car is here, and I brought it straight from the dealer to the shop and bolted on the Magnaflows. Car is great, but I have the same problem as others, where the front doors don't close properly.....
Going back to the dealer n a couple of weeks to figure that out, but for now...

Congrats on your ThunderGray CTS urbanski 05-22-08, 07:49 PM wow she's hot  RightTurn 05-22-08, 07:50 PM Beautiful! Loveldos 05-22-08, 08:10 PM Perfection on wheels! Good Luck! Congratulations Nick!
It looks beautiful. I came so close to ordering thunder gray but I currently own a gray pickup, my previous pickup was gray, and the Aurora I was driving was gray so a change was in order. But it truly is a stunning look for the CTS.
I am glad your wait wasn't too long. omegafiler 05-22-08, 08:38 PM Congrats on the new ride, try to post some interior/exterior sound clips of the magnaflows if you can. Curious to hear how it sounds on the 3.6DI. ngiardina 05-22-08, 10:15 PM Interior Exterior Magnaflow sound clips will be done tomorrow hopefully. I have my best friend's wedding this weekend, though, so maybe not.
It sounds slightly rumbly from in the car, but not noticable with the stereo on. Outside, and it sounds really great. I can liken it to a 350z or g37 or fx35????
Not accurate, but you get the idea.
I am in love right this moment. The Rich Dude 05-23-08, 03:36 AM NICE car!!!
And that Magnaflow exaust looks killer!!!!!!:cool2: Looking forward to hearing what it sounds like.
Can't wait till I order mine, must resist the urge to order now:histeric: lordbaby 05-23-08, 09:44 AM LoL.. i thought you got your car long time ago..may be march. congrat Frank Rizzo 05-23-08, 09:49 AM Congrats, Pal!!!!!
Refresh my memory....how long did you wait from order to delivery?
Bet you log 500 miles this long weekend !! ngiardina 05-23-08, 03:04 PM Already have 250 miles. Waited two months on the nose for the car. I am in love right this moment.
CONGRATS & Get a room! doncrystalred 05-23-08, 06:39 PM Before I ordered my car I had never seen the Thunder Grey color, and I never even considered it. WOW does yours look sharp! Congrats! ngiardina 05-24-08, 12:46 AM CONGRATS & Get a room!
We spent the night together on the local mountain range. I pushed, she pushed back... It was breathtaking.
Wow! That sounded like a harlequin romance novel.:banghead:
On Tuesday I will post the YouTube link for the exhaust sound,
Next week or two and I will show pics of the headrests and the custom faux-floor sub enclosure/amp rack. I just don;t know if the headrests are at the correct angle for rear-seat entertainment.
BTW - How cool are the articulating headlights?? synergy408 05-24-08, 02:29 AM I have the same color and love it - congrats! Can't wait to see the YouTube sound clips of the Magnaflow! :) WhtDmnd04CTS 05-24-08, 03:20 AM the headlights are one of the coolest things about the car IMO
people sit in the seat at night and i'm like LOOK THE LIGHTS MOVE! haha
i'm a dork, but it's awesome :) jordanfsl 05-26-08, 03:50 PM love the color! ngiardina 05-27-08, 09:32 AM Here is the YouTube clip of the exhaust

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4_dRV2p_7o lewisforjesus 05-27-08, 11:51 AM Thanks for sharing Nick. It is a beautiful car. I'll be purchasing a CTS this fall. I plan on keeping it a minimum of 5 years and it will probably get 25k-35k miles per year. In your opinion (or anybody else' as far as that goes) should I select the manual or auto transmission. All of my previous cars have been manual. The rental (I drove for a week) had the auto and it was awesomely fun and performed without a quirk. Look forward to opinions. Lewis The Rich Dude 05-27-08, 12:07 PM Thanks for the sound clip Nick! Love the way the car sounds from the interior but is it me or does it sound a little "Honda ish" from the outside? Maybe its just the way it sounds coming from a camera? Are you totally happy with the way it sounds and performs? Thanks again! RustedElvis 05-27-08, 01:14 PM Thanks for the sound clip Nick! It's not just you. I was thinking the same thing. It does sound awesome from the inside though. Thanks for the sound clip Nick! My thoughts exactly. From the outside it has that bolts rattling in a tin can sound that Rice Burners make. It sounds pretty decent from the interior though. I was looking at having this done but now I'm having second thoughts, maybe you need to give another sound clip. It sounds like a 4 cylinder ngiardina 05-27-08, 06:27 PM Thanks for sharing Nick. I would get the manual, except if you are commuting to NYC everyday. I always drive manual cars, and the CTS has a very nice gearbox. It will also save you $1300. ngiardina 05-27-08, 06:32 PM Thanks for the sound clip Nick! For some reason, when you blast the throttle at idle it makes that strange sound when the RPMs begin to fall, but no where near as pronounced as on the video clip. It has no leaks or rattles or rubs. The only thing I can say is that I did that with a digital camera, not even my camcorder, as my wife lost the charger.
Anyhoo, I just got back from a lovely 300 mile drive including some back country roads and the freeway. I hit 600 miles on the odometer and immediately redlined the car for the first time.
It sounds like sex...
I will try to get someone to help me do a drive-by so that it can be heard properly. The Rich Dude 05-27-08, 07:06 PM Thanks. Like I said. Sometimes it can be the camera or where the camera was placed. A "drive by" would be nice:D Thanks again. ngiardina 05-27-08, 09:25 PM these type of sound clips need to be done with a load on the car.
My thoughts exactly. Give me tomorrow, and I'll get 'r done. Southern 05-27-08, 11:20 PM I'm probably in the minority, but I like the sound. Only issue I would have have would be steady state "drone" at cruising speed.........If it doesn't have that, I would be happy with this sound. I DO agree with Dubbed. You are not going to get the RPMS that quick in gear and the RPMs are not going back to idle In gear........ In any event, I like the deep tone. badblkcts 05-27-08, 11:42 PM ngiardina, i am from jersey also. very nice caddy. pm me if you would ever like to meet up or get a caddy get together going. i would like to hear your exhaust in person. take care and keep up the great work! bryson17 05-27-08, 11:45 PM Put the camera in the trunk and leave it open while you drive around....Probably a bad idea, but it was the first thing that came to mind. ngiardina 05-28-08, 06:35 PM Here is the driveby / ride-along link. Wow does it sound good to pedestrians.

And again, if the embed didn't work (because I am an idiot), here is the link.
http://www.youtube.com/v/Cy1qcwrMLBI You the man, now that sounds better although a V6 just could never get that low rumble like a V8. Was that the Cat-back system? fritze18 05-28-08, 06:58 PM WOW! That DOES sound like SEX! concorso 05-28-08, 07:24 PM the car looks great! sounds good too! ngiardina 05-28-08, 07:33 PM You the man, now that sounds better although a V6 just could never get that low rumble like a V8. Was that the Cat-back system?
Yes, that is the cat-back system with the x-pipe. Magnaflow PN 16831.
Did you honestly expect it to rumble like a V8? ngiardina 05-28-08, 07:43 PM WOW! That DOES sound like SEX!
Thank you, sir. I thought you guys would like it. The Rich Dude 05-28-08, 07:50 PM WOW, that does sound killer! Guess I know what exaust I'm going with!! Thanks again for doing that for us bud! WhtDmnd04CTS 05-28-08, 10:50 PM sounds sweeeeeet.. i wonder if the 3.6vvt would sound the same ngiardina 05-29-08, 08:40 PM I assume it would sound similar, same displacement, same layout, same exhaust from Magnaflow. Does it have the same redline? I only ask because it sounds the sweetest up high. At low RPM it sounds more like a grumbly v8. WhtDmnd04CTS 05-29-08, 10:44 PM what's the redline on the DI engine?
ill have to look when i go to applebees in a little bit
but i think the redline for the base engine is 6500 lewisforjesus 05-30-08, 12:13 AM what's the redline on the DI engine?
