: Programming newer homelink (98+) w/o remote possible?

I'd really like to program my garage door opener with the homelink in my 99 Seville. The big hitch is that I don't have the remote for the stupid door, I can't find it anywhere.

The opener is a newer Craftsmen, which I think is rolling code, so I've been trying to get the opener and car to 'learn.' The button on the opener that gives you about 30 seconds to reprogram. I hit that, then tried the car, but nothing.

I also have the numbered keypad on the front of the garage. I tried using that as the remote, but didn't do anything. Is it because I didn't have the car close enough to the wall? I did push and hold both at the same time.

If it's just not possible, does somewhere like Wal-Mart or Home Depot sell universal remotes that I could get and then program that, then program the homelink?

Correct. Found the remote though, was with all the video game stuff, someone must have put it there when they were cleaning up... Took about 30 seconds once I did find it lol.
