I am looking at doing some touch screen monitors in my head rests and a computer in the trunk. To do so will mean modifying my head rests with the upholstery company I use. Hey BTW a set of leather stock head rests cost $2000 at the parts department!

I have Ebony interior and air conditioned seats. I need to find out who the OEM seat supplier is for the CTS so I can buy comparable leather to make the mods.

Anyone have a clue who the seat supplier is for the CTS? I tried the parts department and they tried but could not help me.

Lots of thanks in advance!:patriot:

Worked on this already, you may want to wait on Vizualogic, supposed to be end of the month, they are having the same problem.

My 2005 CTS had a swatch of leather along with a hanger that gave basic care instructions along with the Cadillac logo and name. The name of the company that provided the leather is Eagle Ottawa LLC, "the world's premiere supplier of automotive Leather". Not sure about the 2008.

OK thanks for that Louie! "Eagle Ottawa LLC". I have a call in.

This is going to be a real tricky system. The monitors MUST turn on with the ignition and not require "pushing a button" on the monitor to turn on. They will need to boot up to the Cadillac logo. I will keep you posted.

Love the Cadillac Owners group! Thanx!

fyi "The beauty of leather is that it is very sensuous," said Pat Oldenkamp, vice-president of design and marketing for Eagle Ottawa, a major supplier of leather for the automotive industry. "We spend a lot of time making sure that the touch of the leather is right, the smell and color. It's all important." It is Eagle Ottawa that provides Nuance leather for those sexy Cadillacs.

I need to know this too.
I an going to see if a qualitty upho;stery shop will attempt to put more padding the CTS seats. Maybe a bit of a bolster also. Wouldn't hurt if I ended up 1 or 2" higher, either.......

Here is what I found out. Eagle Ottawa LLC is a big company and of course does not sell bits and pieces since they deal with OEM. However the very nice person at the email address below tells me they will sell what they call a complete "hide" for the Cadillac CTS 08.

From: Cohen, Annabel [mailto:CohenA@EagleOttawa.com]
Here are the hide prices:
Smooth = $250
Perforated = $300

I think I have worked out an interesting way to add the head rest monitors using the head rest posts as a mounting system. I would place the monitors behind the stock head rest but not involve any leather changes. I will be using 8 inch touch screen monitors by Xenarc as they are brushed aluminum. Never seen an externally mounted head rest monitor so I will see how it turns out. But messing with seats where the parts pricing of just the head rest is $1000 each makes me cringe.

This "blinging out a Cadillac" is new to me (but fun) as I am usualy more of a Hot Rod kind of guy.

I have reached a new snag in my headrest tvs. I was considering cutting in Alpine 7" screens, as Vizualogic is still not ready, until I realized that the stock headrests are non-articulating, and tilted forward quite far. The monitors will be here on Tuesday and I am going to try to hold them in place and see if they are watchable
