I have a forward facing car seat (the kind for over 1 year) behind my passenger seat. Fits nice. We just added another member to family (oye) and his infant seat just can't get in there behind me. Anyone else able to make this combo work?
First, congratulations on the addition! I believe the preferred position is infant seat in the middle where it has the most protection from side impacts and is also away from any side curtain airbags. I have always been in the habit of keeping daughter Anna (now 4.5 yrs) behind the passenger seat once she was out of the rear facing seat because it is generally easier to hand her things/retrieve dropped objects that way. Also at 6'2" i usually have the driver's seat back a bit in each of my vehicles. Assuming your typical front seat passenger is smaller than the driver (or can at least be moved closer to the dash) then maybe the infant seat will fit behind there if the center position does not work for you.
