When using HIDs it's important to not power up the lights then immediately power them down then back up again. On a Seville with halogens with the automatic sentinel headlights turned on, that's what would happen upon starting the car at night. I'm converting one to HIDs.
What I want to know is did the factory HID system somehow take this into account? What component was different so that the ballasts didn't power cycle immediately at startup? I know the Catera's had a 10 second delay on the automatic mode at start-up.
If even the factory HID system didn't change this behaviour, then my question becomes does anyone have any ideas on how to create a 10 second or so delay between the sentinel control and the low beam relay/fuses?
