What other items are powered by this fuse? zergkiller 06-06-08, 10:49 PM Well, I have a 1977 Dodge van, and this sort of thing used to happen to me until I replaced the connectors in the power line to the A/C fan and the compressor. You might try to feel the connections, especially in the fuse box to see if they're hot. I finally had to go to a junk yard and buy a handfull of the metal holders for the fuses themselves and had them replated. It works fine now. But for awhile I was trying to sand the tips of the wires at the holders and so on. hastingsr 06-11-08, 01:00 PM I have the same problem. '93 Sixty Special. I could more help on how to go about looking for the short. According to the manual only the AC is powered by this fuse. JimD 06-11-08, 01:49 PM A lot of different vehicles have a diode molded into the A/C clutch connector. If that diode fails shorted, it will blow the fuse in microseconds. Simple test for a failed diode is remove clutch connector at compressor, install correct fuse, select A/C ON. If the fuse blows, it is most likely a failed diode. | |
