Hello all,

My '79 CDV with 54,000 miles has always had a slight knock in it. I have owned it since December and have put about 2000 miles on it. The car set up for a couple of years before I bought it. I've read where Cadillac wrist pins and connecting rods usually have a knock after setting up. It's only slightly noticable at idle. It completely goes away as soon as I hit the gas. Other people have told me that 425s in general have a slight knock that's normal. Any ideas?

You may have a lifter sticking or you may have an air lock in one of the lifters or oil passages. If it hasn't gone away by the time your next oil change is due, add half a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil to your crankcase.
