Just got a new 2008 Sports Edition EXT and wanted to know what sort of Gas mileage you guy's are getting......and what should we expect???

Also does the Exhaust and Air Box help the mileage out....???

Any thought would be appreciated.....

And we really like the Escalade EXT...... should of bought it a long time ago....

I have an 08 EXT with less than 2000 miles on it. I put forged 26s on it and got the diablo reprogrammer.

I am getting about 9.5 in town adn 11.5 on the highway.

I sold my hummer and went to the escalade... figured it would be a dramatic difference in gas... HAHAH guess not! :banghead:

Regular Lade: 18 stock rims: 12 city/20.5 highway.

The 26s will kill ya.

My truck would not stop with 26's on big hills, and 24's are not much better, can't wait to get them off, gas mileage is worse with 24's and 26's for sure. :(

I have a 08 EXT approx 2,000 miles on it and I am getting a average of 12.9 MPG. I am sure this will get better after few thousand of miles on the engine.

I'm averaging 14.6 city, highway, and towing about 15% of the time. 18's, stock tune. (soon to change)

now how do you guys average you city vs. hwy? did you just reset right before entering the highway? becaus on board there is only the typical overall mpg consumption, so I am just curios.

and second, mechanically, why the bigger size tires are decreasing the mpgs so dramatically?

Bigger / aftermarket tires and wheels weigh a lot more.... more rolling mass... harder to get moving, harder to stop

i did some tests on hwy, for instant mpgs:
- at 55 mph i got 28 mpg
- at 65 mph i got 26 mpg
- at 75 mph i got 22 mpg

you all know there is no instant mpg. this is a workaround.
I get the Lade up to the speed, on a flat line, then I reset the average mpg, and then keep it on cruise for like 1 mile.

try it. i will try to get some shots of it.

I actually thought (hoped) they brought it back for 08 along with a second trip odometer and battery charge readout like my prior Cadillacs. I was not trying to be a smart a**. I have done it the way you described, but still with nowhere near your figures.

well, it is possible.
so I have an '08, Base (sorry no EXT as the topic mentions), 9500 miles, Diablo Mods for 87 Octane, 22" stock, third row removed.
