Hello CF,

I am thinking about getting boost gauge in my V. Where can I get gauge pod for V? Is there one for steering colum mount?

I've got a boost gauge as well. Haven't figured out where to mount it so it doesn't look too low brow.

Steering column would be fine, just has to look Cadillacky ... not tacky.

RLJ5 has an AWESOME gauge pod. I think it has 2 gauges on it. I think a couple people on here have pics of it...

Dang, that follows the curve of the dash really well!

One thing: Does it get in your way seeing out the windshield?

Anyone mount gauges on their A-pillar? Or is that breaking some cardinal rule?

Actually thought about that one, in fact I got a universal pod for the A-pillar since nobody makes one for a V . Took it to a couple places to talk about maybe mounting a set of three gauges there . Had no takers they are all really not wanting to mess with anything close to and air bag. And there is an air bag & bose speaker both on that A-pillar.
Maybe you can do some good with it , But I just took the advise and stayed away from it and went elseware to mount gauges

Someone, I don't recall who mounted two small gauges, one on top of each other in a custom pod, that mounted in the space between the instrument panel, and the Nav. It fit well, was visible to the driver, but pretty non descript when looking into the car.

I've got a guy that mold anything you guys want. Ashtray. pillar, whatever. He has in stock the factory material that matches our pillars and headliner. He's fixing to do my A-pillars for me for my new Morel speakers. Pic of his work below. That's four different pieces of ABS that were epoxied, sanded and painted to match. Let me know if you guys want to do anything. He's working on GMBound's car right now.

I used a heat gun and formed a universal to my A pillar and had some paint matched at Home Depot. Worked out pretty nice. Also, I did some research and was told the air bag came from the area just above the pillar cover. When I removed the pillar cover I didn't see anything but the speaker wiring and the drain tube for the sun roof.

That looks good! Nice work.

bjohnso, so there was not a problem with the airbag? Do you think it would be possible to have the whole pillar cover fabricated with the gauges in it and covered up with stock material, perhaps like by the guy sssmith10 said was working on gmbound car?

I think it would be a piece of cake to mount the pod to the existing pillar, glue on some thin padding and cover it with material. It would probably look factory installed at that point. I would like to get my hands on some of the material myself. Anyone know where to get some?
