Im getting ready to fix my 99 sts head gaskets do to the head-bolt stretching problem and was wondering if anyone has used the KENT-MOORE INSERTS? Im going to be doing all the work at my buddies shop and he said that these are the inserts that he has always used and has had no problems with them. I measured the length of them and they were 1 1/8" or so. I know that the timeserts are 1 3/4" and didnt know if the shorter ones would be a problem. My buddy said that he has done many of these and has never had a KM insert fail. I plain on keeping the car and want to make sure that its done right the first time around. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, T.

For as much as I've read on HGs here I have never seen a discussion of Kent Moore inserts. Usually its Timeserts or more recently some people have been using Norm's. My car is getting Timeserts.

i have not heard of using Kent moore inserts for the caddy. The options I discovered were Timeserts or Norms. I chose Norms as the TimeSerts were of smaller threads, and imho, i believed that norms inserts were better suited for the problem we have with these 98-99 northstars.

All the kost More inserts are TimeSerts. The come in a kit. The kit has a J#. Every part in the kit has a sub J#.
Example: J34000 kit may have J34000-1 or J34000-200:thumbsup:

All the parts have #s including the TimeSerts

Kent-Moore is the tool supplier for GM. Any inserts marked Kent-Moore would be reboxed TimeSerts.

Here's one reference point:

And no matter what do all 20 bolts unless you want to make dropping your motor a regular ritual.
