Hey guys, I was wondering if there was a way/any one has done it.. replace the stock sub in a 2002 escalade with a more powerfull one? I would love too keep the stock look and space in the back of the truck open and clear of sub boxes, but would love some more kick out of my system.

I was looking into this very same thing in my thread. I had Elemental Designs in mind because they produce very efficient high quality subs that work well with factory system outputs.
I had seen some threads about the same thing a very long time ago. There were some small boxes made for that space that didn't realize a lot of sound when installed. One user took the time to line the entire compartment with a custom fiberglass box to maximize his air volume. Time is $$$ though.

There are some new subwoofers in the market now that require minimum mounting depth. I think pioneer makes a 10" one that only requires 2" depth.
These woofers are ideal to for the back door.
The only problem I see is will the stock shocks support the additional weight. This would be an easy upgrade. A box would have to be manufactured to fit in the cavity. 2 10" woofers or even a 12" one would work. Someone please let me know if you can figure out the rear shock dilema.

(not trying to steal the tread) But does anyone know the factory size of the sub??

MTX audio makes a thunderform box that fits in the factory space and its a 10" sub encloser .You can get an empty box or one with a sub already in, there is even one thats amplified 200watt rating. If you have trouble finding it look under the same year chevy tahoe it will fit perfect.
