What do they mean? Have anything to do with blower motor problem? Ranger 04-29-08, 08:51 PM Neither have anything to do with the blower motor. http://myweb.accessus.net/~090/dtcobd2.html ewill3rd 04-29-08, 08:54 PM No, you need to replace the rear temperature door actuator (B0429) and the blower motor itself. Be prepared to spend some $$$ or be prepared to cuss like you have never cussed before if you try to replace it yourself. When the motor does that it is usually an internal connection problem in the motor itself. The design of the housing is a nightmarish one to say the least. If you plan to do battle let me know and I'll see if I can give you some tips that will help you avoid hurting yourself or one of your loved ones. jsd3024 04-29-08, 09:18 PM Thanks for you guys feedback!! I will change it out since I just paid the shop $500 for something else that I later found I could have paid $67 for part and changed in 10 minutes. Any help would be appreciated! ewill3rd 04-30-08, 06:46 AM The real key is removing the glove box, then removing the Dash Integration module. When you get the module out of the bracket, then remove some of the screws for the bracket so you can move it out of the way. From there it is a few 5.5mm screws on the fan housing and a prayer. You have to lower the fan assembly and rotate it back towards you (from the left side) and then figure out how to get it out of the hole. We usually pull the carpet back and sometimes cut the floor matting and pull it out of the way too. Cussing is optional and sometimes required for successful completion of the job. It can vary depending on the specific design of the fan you get. jsd3024 04-30-08, 11:57 AM Thanks for the help and I'll be sure and have a 12 pack in the frig before I get started! However, the rear climate control has never worked scince I bought the car and Id like that to work again too. It blows air, just no temp control....ie: its hot in the summer and cold in the winter. As far as the blower motor.... I should be able to handle it, already had the whole glove box out to install PS2 as well as most of the lower dash. So do you think need to just replace the blower motor? How close to it am I in this pic? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v112/alexdueling/ICEinstall003.jpg ewill3rd 04-30-08, 09:48 PM That would be a good start. From there you just need to remove the DIM (module on the right) loosen and move the bracket and pull the carpet back away from the bulkhead. Then it is just screws and patience. If you can work a Rubik's cube, you can pull it off. Ahhh, it isn't that bad, just takes a while. The worst part is the foam seal in the housing, it is hard to keep in place. | |
