i have a 1987 eldo which has a steering problem, only when cold it jams that you physically can`t turn the steering wheel,after a second or two it frees up and steers-it does this a couple of times and then it is fine all day. what is the problem-rack? it has fe2 option suspension, the steering wheel turns 2 3/4 turns lock to lock, can`t for the life of me find the two letter code on the rack to order a new rack-where are these codes stamped?
sorry for the heaps of questions but i`m in australia and really would like to fix this problem.

yes the rack is hydrallically binding internaly. The seals leak and fluid is then on both sides of the seal, causing the lock up. Using a seal conditioner like LUCAS brand additives will improve this. Sometimes just flushing the system and new fluid makes a world of difference. Cannt help with code location. Sorry
