: Vertical/Lambo doors?

I recently bought a Black 2008 Escalade and put 26's on it. I've put an after market head unit in and put some subs in the back. I like the way it's fixed up now, nothing more I personally would love to do to it.

Some of my friends keep suggesting I put lambo/vertical doors on it. I've never really seen any Escalades with lambo doors. I am kind of thinking it would be too over the top, but I also think it might be unique and look good.

Not really sure, I'm half and half on it. I'm wondering what other people think about it? Would it look too over the top?

I wouldn't put them on a daily driver.( i had them on my yukon). Another thing they wouldnt go up a full 90 degrees more like 45. I'll look thru my photo bucket and post some pics if you need.

If you have some pics of what it looked like on your yukon, that'd be awesome.

This escalade is my daily driver now so the doors would get a lot of usage. I've heard that when you get lambo doors put on, that they keep dropping down and the bolting loosens and you have to get it tightened every month? Not sure how true that is?

Thanks for posting that pic. Eh I kinda like it, but I think that it just goes up too far on that pic, don't know if that can be changed.

Not true, they only drop when the shocks go bad then you just replace the shocks. But me personally i wouldnt do a daly again, you get tired of having to open then lift your door, then pull it down, at least i did. and you can adjust how far they go up.

here's a quick link to a 07 with lambos

I have two wax customers that have lambo doors, one loves them and one hates them, for a show truck they look great, personally would not want them for a daily driver.

My opinion: Lambo doors are going the way of spinning rims.

Lambo' doors on any car except a Lambo is just wierd, just like angel eyes on a Civic. The same deal with portholes, noone should use them unless its a Buick that came with it. (Maserati get away with it since a Maserati concept was the first to use them...Buick was the first to use them in a production model)

I have no problems if you use the same technology, just carry it out using a different design ('08 CTS light tubes). When you copy the exact design, thats all youre doing is copying. In fact, I think installing Lambo doors is similar to putting V or M badges on a car that isnt one.

I don't know about the vertical doors, but I'm thinking the gull wings would look good an a 'lade.
