Help, have a DTS 2003 and i got a msg on the dash that said "service stability system" has anyone else had this warning, what was the ultimate problem and roughly how much was it to get it fixed. Any help or guidance would be apprecitated.

There are a few possible culprits for that problem, most likely a sensor issue but many other possibilities. Pull your own diagnostic codes and post them and that will narrow down the problem.

I had the same problem on my 04 Deville last summer. If I recall correctly, the steering position sensor was too senstive and they replaced it. It hasn't been a problem since.

Mine was replaced under warranty. You may want to search the forum. It may have been discussed.

c1287 in ABS codes normally indicate a steering position sensor.

I have a 2003 DHS and the Stability System message appears occasionaly. The book says there is no problem if it resets after pushing the reset switch. It has always reset for me so I guess the issue is when the message will not reset. Otherwise it's just an annoyance.

i have an 04 dts and the same message came up last winter. at that time i was having a problem with my right front tire loosing air. im not sure if they were realted but when i had the tire resealed, it seems like the message stopped coming up around that time and hasnt been on since. its been about 4 months. so check your tire pressures

When I broke this evening I heard or felt something from the pedal area and that is when the Service Stability System popped on with the orange ABS and TRACTION CONTROL lights staying on. I drive home and while in my driveway look in the manual and it indicates to attempt to reset the system by turning off the vehicle and restarting. If it doesn't come back, there is not a issue. It didn't come back. Everything rides the exact same before this came on and went off... just like it should....Think I'm safe?
Thanks!
