Hey forgive me now if this is somewhere and im being dum but ive looked around and couldnt find anything about this... yes i found alot about fast idle but maybe this is different.. I went out to mess with IAC and realized the top cable to throttle body was tight and holding the the rpms high... The bottom cable is the gas pedal but I dont know what this top cable is unless its cruise control btu dang i dont know why it would be on anyways...
Anyways i disco'ed it and it allowed the rpm's to fall back to normal. BUT, i dont know what i did and im not goin to drive it around like that until i find out. At least not far. PLEASE HELP ME OUT...
I looked on the net for engine diagrams to no avail. I like the car but anyone looking for 98 deville???..lol JK

One cable is throttle and the other is cruise. Not sure what to tell you without seeing it though.

Yea i looked on the side of the box tonight and saw that is said cruise control. I just dont understand why that would be pulling the accelerator for no reason... Like other post ive read, I noticed this happening(idle slowing increasing) when it has been getting warmer. I also read someone that said he turned the ignition key 3 times without starting and then it fixed itself. I tried that before i disconected the cruise cable and it seemed to work. But it was def. the cruise cable that was pulling the throttle before. Ive not noticed any threads like this but then ive not been around like alot of the guys on here... So im hoping someone will have some clue.

Is the retainer for the cable broken at the bracket end?
The other end of the cable where it goes into the module can be removed for inspection.
It seems I have seen this before but I forget where the sticking point is.
I think it is usually where the cable hooks onto the bracket.
