My now fresh out of warranty Sled has developed a power steering fluid leak from the rack.

How much is this gonna cost me?

Last week it was a new radiator. I swear GM times it just right for the major stuff to go bad right after warranty expires.

I just recently did the rack on my DHS, $330 for the part at autozone, and $150 labor to a buddy mechanic of mine, definitely looked like a PITA so I wasn't going to attempt it on my back.

And I feel you on the parts breaking just at the right time, I just had to do the alternator because the current one shit the bed after months of the oil leak I have just dripping on it(still dont know if its the oil pan or half case), that was another $380 w/labor, and that was a day after I ordered two new rear shocks and RH lateral link which is bent on mine another $320:thepan:, needless to say its been an expensive week.

Dealer wants over $1000.00 to do the rack with GM parts of course.

I just don't know if I want an Autozone rack in my car. The failure rate on their parts along with Discount Auto Parts is staggering.

I think the GM rack costs over $600.00


I think I may have the rack replaced then, as shocking as this may sound, look at what I can get for my Sled money wise while everything is 100%.

I agree with what your saying, if you can wait a little try gmpartsdepartment.com its where I got my shocks/link for $320 shipped best price I could find even beating out gmpartsdirect.com, they have the rack for about $400 there.

I was in the same boat when I needed it, I couldnt wait so I had to get it locally...
