Hey guys, here's my 98 DeVille. Just a little video showing how the car looks on the outside, and on the inside. Then a little drive-around the block, to see how car sounds. Enjoy! By the way, on the drive-around watch the hood when I stick the camera out the window, this puppy got so much power the whole front end rises up. <3 Cadillacs. (Mine especially)

Rims: 18" Baccarat Rims
Tires: Spector z-100 high performance tire. $110 per tire. (You can really feel the difference. Better handling/acceleration/start) And with the stock wheels gone, the car picks up speed waaay faster. One wheel only weighs about 17.5 lbs.

Offset on tires +45

Sweet! Looks like the neighborhood kids know the car. Bet their folks do as well. Good luck - keep it smooth. Take her out of town and have someone shoot a drive by so we can really hear it. K_C

I like the black rims. It shows originality! Most people go for the chrome rims, which gets old after a while.

Thanks man, actually thats exactly what I thought, chrome is old now, everyone has it, I wanted anthracite rims (almost same color as my car) but then I got black with chrome rivets because it looks good, instead of juts plain black. See, the car is going to be lowered hence 18's, and 20's are terrible ride quality, then the car is going to be black with chrome flakes in it, and front windows will be tinted, and all lights will be blacked out, somewhat like my mustang was. Hence, the black rims again. I've got big plans for her. Just bought a cold air intake for it also. Not only for HP gain, which I might gain some HP, might not...but for the sound, and custom look. Plus I'm sure I'll save a bit of gas with a cold air intake, and maybe gain some high RPM gains.

Thats a boss Deville:highfive:. What kind of CAI did you get for it?

Thanks man! :highfive: The CAI is the same length as the stock one, but bigger in diameter and with a bigger washable filter.

______________<_...:::^Just An Idea^:::..._>______________

What I was thinking is bore a hole through that new intake, like as close as possible to the TB, and then get a customized CAI kit, and lead it in front of my grill. More air = more power. So, with that design, I wont get any more power than w.e it will be with the CAI, because I have to be going like 35mph - " " for it to ram air into my TB. That way, I will get a lot of power when driving 35mph +. Or yet, best results on the freeway or track. Anyway, bought the intake from a company called Chrome Intakes.

As soon as I receive the cold air intake, I will take a video of the car, and post it up.

What do you think of the design though? I mean, I've thought of every possible problem and solved it in seconds. What ya think?

How far are you lowering it? As far as chrome being old, I saw a guy drive a `98 Expedition with 24s by my work. Out here, everyone and their mother is throwing over sized chrome wheels on their old-ass Caprices. I'm sick of the freaking chrome!

How's the ride quality with the new wheels?

Shes going down 2.75in with the performance springs. Yeah, everyone rides 22's and above here also, even on the g@yest cars you can think of, geo...yes lifted with 22's. Pathetic. Yeah, I'm tired of chrome also. I started to black my engine out, looks great so far. If you want pics, just tell me and I'll post some up.

Ride quality;

Bumps: 7/10 - And these are 18's, imagine 20's; 3/10
Handling: 10/10
Faster acceleration.
Better pick-up.
No squeals, instant grab.
Great take-off.

My car never rode, nor does it now...ride like on butter. I dont know if its my shocks going out, or if it has some upgrades to suspension installed already. If I go slow, its smooth, as I speed up, the whole suspension tightens, feels like my lowered mustang...its crazy.

Definitely post pics of the engine. What parts are you blacking out? For ride quality, why not downgrade to 17"s which would still be black w/ chrome bolts? Or would the one-inch size difference make any difference? As far as the shocks, it could be them, or it could be an issue with the sensor for the suspension not adjusting as it should. Maybe you should also check tire pressure...sounds like a "no kidding" item, but checking won't hurt. It's a ten year-old luxury car, and is bound to give you trouble at some point or the other. Mine loves to give me issues with the security system, and cooling system. Usually, it does it when I have more money than normal.

LOL on the GEO's with 22"s. You should come out here and get a loud of all these "gutless" Cutlass coupes on 24"s, the owners of which think they have a classic, "old school" ride. These guys make it hard on those of us who actually do have old school rides.

Right now, I blacked out the beauty cover, but not the label of course :D, next I'll black out the motor mounts and refrigerant lines, its flat black. Yeah, my ride gave me some issues earlier on, but all seems well now...Dont really know what to expect, its a Caddy. My Caddy is are like a trouble child on crack, in an electrical manner. Haha, sooo....what you're saying is, that their rims actually cost more than their ride? Lmao!

Wow, post the pics! I want to see this black Northstar!

The issues are part of owning a Cadillac, I think. It's like dating a supermodel; top quality, but maitenance and attention are required. take care of her, she will take care of you.

Man, one rim costs more than the car! And the engines are usually all stock and uncared for.

Cover is a bit dirty because I was working on other parts of car, and I still dont have the clear coat on the cover yet because I'm working on a cursive northstar stencil so I can spray it on the cover.

Thanks man. Just put the clear coat up, its really shiny, but in a couple of weeks the heat will take care of the clear coat, it will still be there but not as shiny. Motor mounts have also been blacked out, and so has the radiator cap. All with clear coat. Refrigerant lines are next.

How did you get your Caddy to sound like that?? I just got my 98 caddy 1 year and a half ago. I finished working on the outside and want to start working on the engine. I want to give it that aggressive sound and add more power. Any feedback will be appreciated thanks

Get rid of the old stock mufflers, and get some hi-flow mufflers or single chamber cherry bombs.
