Looking to purchase the 2008 CTS.

Can't decide if i want performance package or not. Only reason why i want performance package ($3,000 option)is the HID headlight/foglights, other items in the package don't really matter to me. CTS doesn't look complete with the HID/foglights.

For 40K+ vehicle, why can't Cadillac make a separate options for HID/foglight like the UltraView Roof instead of being with the performance package?

Anyone know if it's possible for me to just add HID/foglights without the performance package? Can I order one like that?

My recollection is that you cannot order the HID separately. I ordered my car back in September so things have probably changed since then. I wanted everything (18" wheels, leather, HID) in this collection so I never asked many questions. I hope you find a favorable solution to your issue.

I bought mine right off the lot the day after it came in. Luckily it had the performance package, which is what I was looking for all along. Good luck with finding a solution to your problem. I would definitely recommend getting the performance package if your budget allows. I feel the 18" wheels and HID headlights really complete the CTS.

The premium luxury collection includes Nav, Lux Lev 1, and Roof in addition to adding Lux Lev 2 and wood for another $1520 above your model. The upcharge for the performace package is then only $1740 at that point (still $3K, but you get other options).

I personally like the look of the 18" wheels, but you also get the stiffer FE2 suspension, HID, etc. I ended up getting premium luxury and summer tire (FE3) - all options except paint and AWD and would miss some of the options now that I've gotten used to them (remote start, cooled / heated seats, park sensors, opener, telescope wheel, etc).
