I have been waiting on BT. Today my dealer called to say OK to go ahead. My dilemma order the 08 or wait for an 09. I went down to the dealer and found out 09 ordering starts May 22 and 09 builds start June 9th. Bottom line wait an additional month for the 09 (which I will purchase not lease so their is some value to the newer car later on). Additionally, they have the paint chips for the 09 that show the new Blue Diamond (I originally wanted a Blue chip car, but those are no longer available, so if I had gone for an 08 I would have setteled for a Black/Black car, nice but not my first choice). Well the Blue Diamond chip looks nothing like the chip on cars.com. It is much darker appearing to me to be a mix of a navy blue and deep grey metalic. I chose to go with the 09 Blue Diamond DI 4 with cashmere and all the fixings. The dealer has a blue Diamond DTS on order that should arrive prior to my order going live so I will have a chance to see it on a car prior to mine being built. My only concern now is that I liked the way the cashmere looks with Blue Chip. Not sure if its the right color with Blue Diamond may once I see the DTS switch to light titanium.

I know its been asked before in prior threads but has anyone found a good picture yet with a Blue Diamond car is it available on any other GM products? Any DTS delivered yet with it?

yup I'd be patient enough to wait for 2009. I hope that you don't have a current lease that would force you to make a purchase. But I am a bit caution and alert than some others, so I won't order right away when the 09 is out because there might be problems that GM will need to adjust before they release or produce a better version, just like everything else and the CTS 2008. Although, there aren't many changes between the 2008 and 2009 as far as I concern, I will still take this precaution move if I wait for the 2009. I don't know how much testing they made on the 2009 but 2008 is sure a nice one!

Thanks for that thought on ordering an early 09. As far as my research goes it does not seem that there will be any major changes other than the new on-star module that is being installed now on the final 08 cars, so I think I am OK on that side. Yes I did order already. However, the order can not be submitted until May 22nd. My biggest concern is ordering from a paint chip. That is why I was asking if anyone has seen the Blue Diamond on the DTS as I understand it is now available on 08 DTS's.

Honestly, with all my talk about the beauty of blue diamond, I a cancelling my DAMNED ORDER right now... I love Thunder Gray, but BD is impressive. I need to be happy for the next 5-7 years.

You definitely are making the "right" decision by ordering the 2009 model. It sounds like it will be gorgeous--Blue Diamond has received many, many positive compliments, and it would look good with either interior (Cashmere or Light Titanium), and with the Cashmere, it would probably look a little more "sporty," as opposed to "conservative." Either way, it will be a fantastic looking automobile! Good luck! (The Thunder Gray Chromaflair is also a great color.) :thumbsup:

P.S.--Keep checking e-bay for a picture of a Blue Diamond DTS, since they are being built first in that color.

Finance-wise, how does it work when you order and then may have to wait (lets say) 8-12 weeks. Did they pulled your credit when order was placed? Or would the dealership simply take a deposit and then ck your credit once car is in dealer lot? Thanks

They pulled credit on order. I was told approval is good for 60 days then they will re-pull.
