I was doing some work under the hood of my 75 CDV (8.2L 500) and i noticed that one of the hoses going from the carburetor to the vapor canister wasn't connected so naturally i refered to the vacuum diagram in my service manual to make sure i was putting the hose in the right spot. Verified. Went to move the hose and it snapped right in half. It was very brittle. It actually broke in several pieces as i was trying to move it completely :nono: Ran over to Autozone to pick up a few unrelated things and check to see if they had this particular hose or one of the same size that i could use...of course they didnt have the hose, they dont carry it. So i get back to the house and go back under the hood for another look at the situation. The middle hose on the vapor canister that goes to the fuel tank looked in good shape. Then i move on to the last hose that connects to the canister. The vacuum diagram notes this one as the carb bowl vent. I move in to inspect this one and guess what happened...that bytch broke in half too :banghead:.

So now i need to know if ANYONE knows part numbers for both the canister purge hose and the carb bowl vent, and any resources that may have them in stock.

The canister purge hose that i pulled off had the following markings on it 1/4 GM-6107M-KV. No visible markings on the carb bowl vent hose. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also. would i run into any problems if i ran the car with out these two hoses connected. Thanks

Alright here is another question.
The service manual states "The hoses used in this system are specially manufactured and if replacement becomes necessary it is important to use only hose marked "EVAP" or "GM-6107M" on the hose."

Im thinking i should be able to get some vacuum hose from an auto parts store and just cut to fit, correct? I just have to make sure the hose diameters are the same as the ones i pulled off right?

I hope i am not completely off base here. I would like to get this resolved with the quickness. Thanks Again

If fuel flows through those hoses you can't use regular rubber vacuum hose. Make sure you get line that will not degrade/breakdown when exposed to gasoline.

I have always used gas line instead of vacuum hose if the diameter is right. In fact, on some of the diameters, it is near impossible to find vacuum hose, so it might be a necessity to use gas line...

Measure the diameter of the nipple on which this hose goes. Ask for fuel/vapor hose of this as the inner diameter
