'97 STS. Regular (not Bose) Radio, CD, tape.

12-disc CD player in trunk was "dead". I removed "comfort" fuse in trunk to see if the fuse was blown. The fuse was fine, and after replacing that same fuse, the CD player worked -- for a while.

Now the CD player off again.

I have had some codes that may be related to the problem:

B1552 "keep alive memory error" for IPC;
B1983 "device power circuit low" under IPC, PZM, MSM & MMM;
B0856 "batt 2 out of range" under MSM and maybe other categories too.

None of these codes are currently active, but could they have contributed to the CD problem?

Any other ideas?

I have the same problem with the 12 CD changer in my 97 STS. I have found that the connection between the circuit board unit that the wire from the trunk plugs into and the main unit itself is not a tight and good connection. I have been able to get the changer to work by moving that piece a bit (after removing the 3 screws), using contact cleaner on the connection and also wedging it up a bit from one side but all 3 of these ideas were only temporary, I need to keep working on it to find a permanent fix. I have no relevant codes coming up for this problem.
