I am starting to get incredibly itchy . Each day goes by, and I am really no closer to the beautiful car I purchased. I don't even have any more questions to ask about it! I think I understand as much as anyone else does about every aspect of my future ride. With every new thread there is a new war story about "I ordered a car in October of 1963 and still haven't received it, just because I got FE3 or a manual!" (I got both). I don't really have anything meaningful, important, or groundbreaking to say, I am just hoping someone else is in my situation, as I am starting to annoy my wife and bore my friends with insignificant (to anyone else) details about my new CTS.
It may because of the fine single malt I am drinking or because spring has sprung in New Jersey, but I WANT MY DAMNED CAR! HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO BUILD A CAR? HOW BAD IS LIFE THAT GM CAN'T FIND SOMEONE TO SUPPLY THEM WITH WHEELS??
sorry.

If you ordered P63 plan on a 8 1/2 week wait. I just got mine today and its superb. I ordered mine 2/7/08 and it was built 4/11/08 & it arrived at the dealer on 4/15/08. Its worth the wait.

Didn't even want P63, but Caddy won't build my PDQ/FE3/MN6 without them. Even so, how could a fuc*ing set of rims make life so horrible. I hav spoken to guys who ordered base MN6 cars and took delivery in three weeks!
Mine (PDQ with pretty much everything except AWD) was ordered the week after Redvett and still no TPW. I wouldn't mind so much if Cadillac provided some guidance to customers as to how and when they are allocating the small number of P63 and P75 available but unless they are willing to provide some definitive guidance as to when I will receive a TPW I am going to look at the products AND customer service offered by the competing manufacturers. Between my wife and I we have 3 GM vehicles in the family at all times and the CTS would have been my fifth new GM vehicle purchased since 2001 but at this rate my 2006 Sierra may be the last new GM product I purchase. I have ordered pretty much all of them and even my first GMC Sierra with Duramax, which was in very short supply when I ordered it in 2000 as the first of the new 2001 model year, was preferenced and assigned a TPW less than 6 weeks after the order. My dealer, like others, is able to get the stripped models and for anyone wanting a "lower-end" 2008 there are probably going to be some pretty nice incentives to move them soon. I have a great dealer nearby who has always provided excellent before and post-sale customer service and I have never had a major problem with any of my purchases and these are the reasons I have been willing to wait through this process. OK rant mode off.

Ordered my Crystal Red/Ebony interior/ RWD/PDQ/Y42/P63 on March 14, It was built on April 10th (no bluetooth) and will be delivered to the dealer in Arizona on the 28th of April. Still haven't decided if I will have it delivered to Albuquerque or fly there to pick it up. Looking forward to next week.

Flying to the factory? That sounds like a great idea. I just want the car.

You know what else would make this better? A website that I could enter my order number into and receive a status. I call my car dealer like a jealous ex-girlfriend!

If you salesman is worth anything he/she will keep you apprised of the SEC codes mine did.

If you come, I will give you a place to stay.
I see trailers and trailers of CTSs leaving the Lansing factory every day.
In any event, sorry you are having to wait so long.

As you know all vehicles must be shipped to a dealer you cannot pickup a vehicle from the assembly plant. If your CTS is in the early stages of the SEC before #2005 you can get the vehicle drop shipped to a different dealer. If its after the #2005 your going to have to wait.

The car is worth the wait, trust me. It took me 8 weeks. I was lucky to get an allocation from my dealer. The prem lux and all season package were on constraint and the allocation was the only thing to save me. I have every option avail, AWD, DI.
