I just got my air conditioner fixed. the tech said it was a faulty wire, he replace it. Im glad since I thought it was the compressor which is a $1,000 part!
I ran her hard the last few day just yesterday to start the air and the air blows warm after about 5 minutes of running. turning the air off for a bout 15-30 mintues and restarting the the air conditioner works again for a few minutes then blows warm. this has been like this for a few days. Anyone ever have this problem? anyone know how to fix this problem?

In the old days i would say you need Freon. I think the newer cars won't even let the compressor turn on if the freon level is low. Open the hood and watch(or listen) to see if the compressor is turning on and off. Under normal operation it does cycle on-off. If it's always off, it may be low on gas.
There is also a door under the dash that opens to let the cool air through but that's an area that I'm not familiar with.

You can get the compressor for my 2004 at rockauto for $390. I've heard stories that most shops charge $1000 to do the swap. Install it yourself and have a shop vacuum and charge-save money.

$390 for an ACDelco unit. That is the exact OEM replacement. I would think that you could find it for around that price at the online GM parts stores, or a dealer that discounts.
I learned years ago to only buy new GM compressors. The rebuilt units from the parts stores can give you trouble. Cheap parts, even with a "lifetime warranty" suck, because the install is a pain. Also, you want reliability. But then, I had a 96 Blazer. Its compressor started leaking at the case at 50K miles. I bought a new GM one from a dealer at a discount price. The list was something like $650 and I got it for like $400. Another 50K miles or so and that new one leaked at the case. Internet investigation showed me that that particular Delphi unit has the common problem of leaking at the case. I found a new Sanborn replacement. That worked great, no leaks. In that case, it was good to get away from the OEM part.
For the CTS I would only use the GM/Delco parts, unless I found it to be like that old Blazer one, with a habit for leaking.
If I was so much of a cheap-skate I would have bought a Korean car. (Never)

before you go out buying parts.
By running hard, what exactly do you mean?
Constant FULL-THROTTLE pulls? If so, try running around without pedal to the metal. More than likely you will have cool air :) If that is the case, then stop doing pedal to the metal type things as these cars probably disengage the A/C when the throttle is full depressed to the floor.
