I have a 2000 STS. When I use the remote to unlock the door, the driver seat resets to some generic postion. Thoughts anyone?? I just bought the car 2 days ago....

Thanks,

Mark

Read the owner's manual section on "Feature Programming". You can set a bunch of stuff for key fobs 1 and 2, as well as an "Exit" setting. Depending on which fob unlocked the car, the setting for that fob will occur with key in.

In "Feature Programming" you will see Remote Recall, or something like that. Turn that to off. What is happening is the car is set to have your seat adjust to your preset position, when you press the unlock on your remote. Again in FP, there will be settings for "Key in recall" or something similar. Turn that on. That will allow you to unlock the door, enter the car, and still have your seat in the Exit position.

You'll find that, when you mistakenly unlock the car with your wife's/gf fob and get in, when you stick your key in the ignition, the settings go to wife/gf and scrunch your knees up to your ears. The fob, 1 or 2 , does the do, not the key.

Thanks to all for your information. I need to find a 2000 sts owners manual, probably on e-bay.....
