Hello,
I am debating purchasing an 04 escalade. What problems have you had that i need to worry about.
Is the price of $48k for a brand new model a good deal?

Does any of your local dealers provide free scheduled maintenance?
Thanks

Is that a 2 WD? My 03' has been very good, no problems except had to have one headlight assy replaced under warranty because of a bad HID ballast, that happened the second week, no problems in over a year.

Check the Sunday classifieds. I have seen 12K off sticker offers in the NW. With gas prices so high I would think they are makin good deals.

I think you are right, this price is 10K off the sticker and i think in june it will be even more. I suspect they may be offering free service for the entire warranty like they do in Canada already.

What would you all recommend to pay for a new 04?

I negotiated a demo 03 EXT down to 39K but it had 3K miles on it. I think if you pre arrange financing and negotiate with cash you have more leverage but I'm old school and I,ve only traded 20+ cars. I really think after driving around my local dealership and seeing they had more Escalades than anything else and the gas prices I could get a new one for less than 41K easy.

Here it is:
New car Negotiation:
1.Buy when dealer supply is high. (now for the Escalade, not for CTS-V or XLR)
2.The end of the month. (I don't know why, I think it is interest payments on inventory or getting the sales figures to GM for their volume kickback.)
3.Anytime of the year after tax season b/c sales are high at that time.
4.Don't let emotion sway your decision.
