When looking at the passenger side door when closed. The pillar is not flush with the body. Its about 1/4 inch out and sticks out like the car door is ajar.

I just noticed this and I was trying to find someone who might have the same problem, but I couldnt find anything. The drivers side is completely flush but the passenger pillar (Plastic vertical piece) sticks out like a sore thumb...

anyone else notice this????

on the driver side my hood at the corner of the fender is not flush it sticks up alittle.........people had this problem like mying.....nobody checks anything right out the door.....this country is about money ******stinks

1-if it was a design flaw it would be on all of them......... it's not and has never been reported here.
2- Instead of telling us, have you considered, calling the nice dealerman and telling him?
3- That goes for the anti-american Spaceman too.

Southern, you're not wild and crazy (well concerning your comment that is; I can't make a judgment about you in general). I just checked my CTS and the doors are all perfectly aligned and meet up with the body where they should. These observerd problems are not a design flaws but likely can and should be corrected.

one could say you should have picked it up during your predelivery inspection. you did look the car over when writing the check, no?

I'm surprised I noticed this after driving 800 miles and not sooner. I hope this will be in the category of manufacture defect.

Anybody else experience this and, if so, what was the dealer's solution??

not really, the b-pillar at the top of the front door sticks out approximately 1/4" at the top. Picture it.

i trust you because someone here posted a picture here before.. his hood had an uneven gap betwen the left and right (one side is wilder) but this doesn't happen to every car and it is difficult to discover. post some picture

A small adjustment to the window frame is all you need. Put the window down all the way, put your knee on the door panel and pull the window frame in toward you. Or have your dealer pull the header in to make it flush with the roof.

This is stupid. Its really simple go to the dealer, they tend to be helpful with things like this.

I went to the dealer and apparently this isnt a manufacturer defect. I realized that one of my worst fears almost came true...someone had tried to break into my car and jimmy it with a crow bar from the outside. This became evident by opening the door and seeing the telltale scrape marks left by the a-hole who attempted to break in.

Well that sucks. Good thing that they were unsuccessful at breaking into your car. I had Lojack installed in my car day after I received it...hopefully I never have to use it.

Just curious. Since Onstar is free for the first year why did you install Lojack.
Onstar can track and locate. Am I wrong ??

Thought the same thing, because mine has the same scratches on the inside of the driver's pillar and the outside of the passengers pillar. Very coincidental that two people's cars had theft attempts before delivery. I wonder if the jackasses at the ports did it. My car goes in Monday for the repair, I will keep everyone posted as to the outcome.

Man, that sucks that someone tried to break into your cars, but it speaks well for the ability of the CTS to resist a quick break-in.
