I was hoping that the 2009 CTS would have forward ultra-sonic sensors as well as the rear ones to aid in parking. Is there a reason for not having it?

I assume your issue is with the concrete deadmen in parking lots? Well. I had occasion to back into a parking spot the other day. I backed toward the deadman, knowing that nothing back there would be hurt, but watching therear avoidance lamps....... They never even changed color.......and I backed OVER the deadman. They work fine on vertical targets. It is unlikely they would let you back over a child. But they are worthless when the target is six feet long and five inches high....... ngiardina 04-12-08, 03:27 PM ... and they would ruin the look of one of the most gorgeous front-ends in history. DONZI 04-12-08, 03:40 PM Because your facing that direction. :) Eldo1953 04-12-08, 06:44 PM This is no DTS... :wisdom: chewwtoy 04-13-08, 01:27 PM They should be there in 2011.. greyghost04 04-13-08, 03:51 PM It will have front parking indicators when they put in the automatic parking module in 2010. It will be only $3000.:bonkers: Crackerzot 04-13-08, 07:52 PM Two comments: The black skirt along the lower front is rubber and flexible. That's the good news. Even better news is that for $200, my local installer can install switchable forward parking assist sensors. The sensors themselves are black. I am going to have him mount them in the rubber skirts rather than in the painted fender above. They will be visually invisible and achieve the desired result of not accidentally scraping the front end into curbs or parking blocks. There are four sensors. I think this is a very reasonable cost and a great solution. dkozloski 04-13-08, 07:57 PM I have two front parking assists already. One on each side of my nose. They are very clever in that they automatically install themselves in any car I drive. Crackerzot 04-13-08, 07:59 PM Oh God, not this crap again! | |
