Here is my 97 Polo Green Met. STS with the full compliment of 880/9006 6000K HID's in lowbeams & fog lights.......

Why did I opt for the 6000K? Because I felt the 6000K temp. was the best choice for the most light while appearing a tad different than the 4300K (Most light output) Factory stock HIDS. Those 6000K HID;s still have about 3 times the output of the stock 9006 halogen bulbs, :):):)

Oh yea I forgot, for those of you wondering about the hail damage.... It's GONE. Repaired nicely with PDR and a NEW hood. Along with the Body shop repainting the outside mirrors free. :cool2::cool2::cool2:

Thanks Jason!

Gearheaad, That's a nicely done job. Lots of light and the install looks like it belongs on the car.

Too bad about the hood(s), though. $$$ bummer.

Sub409,

Well, that's what I have insurance for.... They paid for the damages both times. Whatamazes me is after all that and they still have not totaled it out... They put the value at about 10 grand based on condition and low mileage. It is in great shape. After I get the rear bumper cover redone, there is not going to be a BAD spot on that car.

There was a police road block the other night, when I got up to the line the Officer checking for seatbelt use & registrations pulled me off to the side for further investigation. When I inquired why , they told me the registration did not match the description of the car. I was like "ehhhh what?....:banghead::banghead::annoyed: Officer replied "Well sir, according to your papers your Cadillac is supposed to be a GREEN '97 model , What I see here is a BLACK 2004 model... :cookoo:... I starting laughing my head off, I guess some of them thought I was drunk.. Ha...:alchi: I explained to the officers that it was indeed a 97 "DARK GREEN" STS. One Officer immediately said that's not Green , it's BLACK, and then said, "AND '97 STS's did not come with HIDS".. :bigroll: I stated, " Sir, The HID's are aftermarket brand NEW , and if you shine your flashlights on the paint, you will see it is indeed a DK GREEN STS.., So 2 Crown Victoria's lined up their pillar mounted spotlights on the side of the STS.. Ha ha.. GREEN... So I told them, if you still don't belive that is my car .. Check the VIN number... It's the SAME as on the registration... So The Officer that stated about the HID's handed the papers back to me asked " Where did you buy those HID's? I have a 96 STS and I want to get those! " Ha ha.. I told him "eBay, Have a good night!" ..

No Jason... it was about 4 cops talking to me at different times.. The one that said he had a '96 was not the same Cop that said he thought it was a 2004 model.. But it would not surprise me if someone had a 96 STS and didn't know there was a body style change in 98. Not everyone is a car freak like you and me.....

rofl
didnt realize that
i assumed it was the same
many a time my sister has gotten pulled over for driving my car and the cops let her go once they found out it really was my car with her driving it

the best moment though was when my SISTER was spotted by a cop speeding and later that day i drove by and he pulled me over (in the STS) thinking it was the same car

i guess it can be kinda confusing 2 silver cadillacs with exhaust and billet grilles lol
