People have been asking for pics of black powder coated rims. Here you go. I think they'd look better with black calipers, but I still have another set of stock rims that will be powder coated chrome.

Stock Rims.
Gloss Black Powder Coat - $65 each.
Rear Tires - Toyo Proxes T1R - 275-40.
Front Tires - Toyo Proxes T1R - 255-55.
Tire Pressure Sensors - $forty something each from Lindsay.
Black Touch Up Paint for Wheel Weights - Free from work.:canttalk:

If you like black, I suppose.

Reminds me of a dirty wagon wheel.

Need to go all the way - black front mesh, lugnuts, calipers, rotor hats, lights, V-badge and mufflers.

http://blogs.chron.com/whitehouse/archives/darth-vader.jpgAgreed. The thing I don't like about a black V is that the chrome surround and silver grill looks like a kid with braces since there is no other chrome on the car.

So you powdercoated your wheels black and didn't do the mesh? Now the grill looks extra goofy.

Yeah I'm liking that but I agree everything needs to be blacked out...Looks like the 275's on the rear mounted up just fine on the stock rims. Nice!

yeah atleast get rid of the orange and red. that will make a big difference. Then black out the grill too

I like it alot, but agree that you need to keep going w/ the powdercoating. Then again, you have the other set getting chromed so either way one set will look out of place.

And get that 4x4 dropped about 1.5"!

Here is my blacked out wheels and grill - In-process to get all the lights blacked out also - We will see how that goes. hmmm.

This looks much better! The red calipers help out a bunch in this case.

I have a huge amount of interest here because this is next on my list (wheels powdercoated, as the black chroming guy never called me back)

It is waaayyy up in the air. I have GC and QA1's sitting in the basement, just haven't put them on. Thinking of selling and just getting GC w/stock shocks. I didn't do the grill because of the other wheels I have are going to be chrome and most likely my DD ones. I got the black ones for the couple of track days per year and when I just have the urge to look slightly more bada$$. At least from the side view. I guess I'll just look like a big dork when you see the chrome grill and black rims in the same view.;)

Actually, on another subject. I think the CTS look very good with 'shaved' door handles. How do the doors open with those? I am guessing you have to go to an aftermarket remote?

Don't give up on the black chrome. Find a vendor who does good work, the price may be higher, the inconvenience (shipping and waiting) is bothersome, but in the end you will have a great set of rims.
I know that CCW no longer offers it for the above reasons, so be diligent.

See the sig pic in my first post here...

Wish you had a regular camera. I have a 2005 also with the silver centercaps. Looks good from what I can tell in the picture. The caps seem to compliment the calipers... now I am torn! I already bought the caliper paint... now you tease with teeny pics of the silver ones.

Sorry man. I almost didn't post them, cause of the size and the car was dirty. It's been rainin here like crazy. That was the first time it has been in the rain, since I bought it. I ordered the smoked fogs and markers. It will just take some time before it is murdered out completely. My brother likes the silver caps too. Those are the redline tires that were such a great deal. I bought 2 more for a spare & extra tire.

I was the first to flaunt the redline tires!!! I took some flack over the whole deal but ended up liking them. Never thought they would look so good on black, but that looks really good from what I can tell. You ought to take some good quality pics and start a different thread, I guarantee interest.

OK. I"ll take some better pics with my canon rebel this weekend. Hell a freakin tornado went through part of nashville like 20 minutes from where I live today. The weather is jacked up. It's gonna be freezin cold tomorrow. I'll take my camera with me to the dealer tomorrow, and take some pics while my buddy does the alignment. It will be dirty though.

The car came with the stripe from Kook's . it is a pale yellow that slowly goes through 5 or 6 color changes to a red.

I think Im going to have my rims powder coated my questions is the tire sensor, when I take my car in they are going to have to remove the tire from the rim and when they do that does the sensor need to be replaced ? Is it inserted or something when the tire is inflated for the first time ? I have BF Goodrich tires on it right now there junk its like plastic skipping across the ground!!! what tires should I put with my stock rims I dont want really low profiles so I feel the road but a good high performance tire..... Thanks Im trying to get this stuff all done by Friday morning

Here is what the sensors look like: http://www.cadillacfaq.com/faq/answers/img/tirepressure/tirepressure-2.jpg

Tire will need to be removed along with the sensor, but the sensor does not need to be replaced.

Search the forum for tire recommendations, they're all over the place.

Redlines are $75 a piece, shipped. If you buy 8 you might get another $100 off.

I like the tire's feel, personally, but I have never owned the HIGH dollar tires either.
