After installing a new clutch and slave life was good.
It did not take long (several days) before my clutch began to chatter and within minutes of that the pedal stuck to the floor.

Bleeding the system restored the pedal but did nothing for the chatter.

The pedal stuck to the floor again within 45 minutes of driving.

Well this was what was wrong:

Guess you have to use race car parts when you build a race car......:duck:

A little research sparked by forum member Washin

led me to the McLeod Billet Slave Cylinder.

I discovered that the shops in the know are using these on high power Vettes and GTO's.

I figured my V deserved no less than them.

Part number 1373 is what is supposed to fit our cars.
My car has part number 1372.
The only difference is the hydraulic lines.
They have to be customized no matter which you get (1372 or 1373).
The hydraulic lines are perhaps that is the hardest part of this upgrade.

If you don't already have a slave spacer, look into ordering your McLeod Billet Slave with a #6 piston.
That eliminates the need for a slave spacer and trimming of the belhousing.
Other piston sizes are available (if needed) to get it just right.

It is recommended that you take some measurements to determine proper piston length:

This part is definetly heavy duty and should put an end to mangled stock slave syndrom.

It increases clutch throw and effort.
Expect a stiff clutch pedal after install of this slave.

Haddad Motorsports did the install of this slave on my car.

These guys are super cool.
They are the only shop in LA that I will take my car to for mechanical work.
If you are ever near LAX, stop by and pay them a visit.
They are there well past 5 (typically till 7-8 p.m.).

I'll keep you posted on how this setup works in my car.

I really want someone to try the #6 piston solution (eliminating slave spacer) and report on that.
The MSD CTS-V is the only car I know of with that #6 piston setup.
Put those $75 spacer dollars towards this $370 slave.

Sorry for the crappy camera phone pic.

I have high res pics of the MSD CTS-V setup.
If someone wants them, just PM me your email address.
