Would it be possible to fit a TH325-4L transmission to a 368cid with the 4-6-8 ? I guess the tranny itself should fit since the stock tranny is a TH325, but will it prevent the 4-6-8 from working ? And will it be thought enough for the torque the engine produce ? With the current gaz price, I'm thinking more and more about doing that swap.
I could be wrong but I believe the variable-displacement function worked off the transmission somehow. If I'm not mistaken, to disable the system, people just disconnected a wire from the trans. If that is true, I doubt the trans will work.....there may be other issues too.
Yes, there's a switch on the tranny when it get on third gear to tell the ECU it can switch to 4 or 6 cylinders, but I didn't know if the TH325-4L had that switch too. :hmm:
Like I said, I could be wrong but if the switch was only used for the V8-6-4 function, I don't see why they would carry it over to another trans that it isn't needed on.
