Sorry if this is already posted somewhere. I looked but didn't find it anywhere.

I am wanting to convert my 2004 SRX headlights and fog lights to HID's and am wondering if this is possible. I talked to a Cadillac service manager and he said it is not possible. Something about the cars computer not being programed to run HID's. Im not to savvy on this stuff, but that sounds a little hoaky to me.

Is there a conversion kit available to do this? And will the lights be projecting properly, as if they were oem HID's (so they aren't blinding the oncoming traffic like I have seen with a few friends that have tried HID conversion).

Thanks

Just putting bulbs in is lame, yes it will blind people and just be bright in the wrong places.

Depending on how the DRL works on the non-hid cars, if the headlights do not come on at all with DRL I don't see why you could not get it to work.

You will need some HID headlights from an HID car and the ballast and so on, all the parts basicly, you may or may not need a relay to turn them on as well but I really have no idea.

As far as I know you also need auto level if you HID, every HID car I have had had auto level in the car or in the headlight so you don't blind people.

SRX does not have auto-level in the states but I feel certain it does in Europe. You can buy the HID right and left assemblies from Schram. http://www.schramauto.com/index.html
Want them real bad? They are $500 each. I think they do show the auto-level at $550 each.

If it were me I would gladly pay $1000 for HID, I hate driving my truck at night without them.

Do these come with everything I need to intall them, ie. ballasts, bulbs, etc.? And would it be a hard install or just plug n play?

Do not have a clue.

Second that, I would buy one and go from there. I would think the housing is just that and you would need the ballast and stuff, get ahold of the parts breakdown and see what parts are involved. I got my drawing off ebay cheap.

You could also call and ask them if they could help you out at all.
