I have a 95 SLS with the 4.6 N*. It has about 170,000 on it but lately I have been having cooling fan issues. I would be driving down the road and the cooland would raise all the way up to the 264 degree limit at which time Id pull over and slowly let it cool down until i could shut it off. The problem lay somwhere in the cooling fans. Its almost like the turn on when they feel like. Im ready to tear into this car like a bat out of **** but Id rather get some second opinions before I end up in more of a mess than needed.

Look for fault codes; if you don't see any related to the coolant temperature sensors, then a check of the cooling fan relays is in order. You can also use a scantool (e.g. Snap-on "brick") to cycle the fans on or off. IIRC there are two of these relays, most likely underhood. They should both come on when you engage the A/C; if not, that's a sign they might be defective.

True true Ive heard that some how the fans were tied in the the A/C circuit but that the problem was coming from an undercharged A/C system which makes no sense to me ahah.

That it overheats while you are driving down the road makes me believe it may not be a cooling fan issue as that would normally manifest itself more at idle or in traffic.
You might want to check the tensioner for the water pump belt to verify that it is operating freely.
FWIW
YMMV

The belt is fine and so is the water pump. All of the coolant hoses are good too. I did a tune up on the car at 150000 miles and checked all of that stuff. Like you can tell the fans are on and off all the time and when ever the car starts to get hot the fans don't turn on. It an intermitant problem.
