Do you mean the Led Zep song?

I suppose one of us is really showing his age here.. http://cadillacforums.com/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

The song is "Rock and Roll" from Led Zeppelin, circa 1969ish or so. Think it was from "The Song Remains the Same" album.

Led Zeppelin was the last of the 'supergroups' formed out of the detreius of the Yardbirds.

E. Clapton - after leaving YBs, formed Cream.
J. Beck - replaced Clapton, then left to work solo, <-- big car nut
J. Page - replaced Beck, then started Zep with R. Plant and J P Jones.

LZ was named by Keith Moon (RIP) of WHO fame, who theorized that a blues group fronted by R. Plant and J. Page would "go over like a lead zeppelin" ( e.g. "lead balloon")

Jim,
Very good!!:bouncy: You were the first to post! "Rock and Roll" by Led Zeppelin Man you must be older than dirt:D I love that song. Cadillac's first choice was a song by the Doors called I think "Break Thru" but the Doors turned it down.
I love to put the sunroof back and crank up the volume to "Rock and Roll"
A bit childish?:bouncy:

For years, the background theme music from the 60s into the early 80s was performed by the late Enoch Light and his orchestra, "Sound Salute to Cadillac." It appears on recordings only once, the 1976 8 track demonstration tape.

I have to watch myself (if driving) when "Rock and Roll" comes on the radio; seems I can't control my right foot. :) Zeppelin fan forever. (yeah, I'm an old guy).

The under-60 crowd is probably wondering why they can't remember a rock group called "Enoch Light."

It was "Enoch Light and his Light Brigade" wasn't it ?

You were the first to post! Man you must be older than dirt:DYeah, it's a song from the "older than dirt club". it's also not a "Cadillac theme song" FYI. No wonder the Doors said "no". Pound sand FIFO!!!!! :)

Lol, sadly there are probably many. Mostly younger though, I'm sure. Zeppelin ain't cool no more! Didn't you get the memo.

WHITE PEOPLE PLAYING POLO, GUYS!

I would strongly suspect, that among those that can afford the game, that there are as many people of color playing polo as white folks. This is particularly the case when one looks at the world population of polo players. Although if the Southern California polo matches are any indication, Cadillacs are poorly represeted in the parking lots!

The Zep (whose power is SATAN) is now and always will be beyond cool. No memo required. Just because stupid kids today listen to Justin Beiber/bieber/beeber and Rebecca Black, does not make Led Zeppelin LESS cool, it just means that (As anyone with a brain will tell you) there haven't really been many good bands to come out in the last twenty years. Probably less than four. Fact, not opinion.

It was most definitely cheesy. lol

WHITE PEOPLE PLAYING POLO, GUYS!

STFU NOOB

That commercial was awesome. Polo, Fencing, Blowing things up and driving home in a Cadillac. About five days a week, that is what my day consists of. Clearly, Cadillac was targeting me as their target sales demographic and by gum, it worked. I keep that song on my MP3 player at all times, because it is so magnificent.

They don't allow my kind on the polo fields. :(

You need The Horsepowers first. And if you're traditional, the Duck (A ball in a net for easy scooping-up) is an ACTUAL duck. Take that PETA.

At least someone laughed. That image cost me almost thirty seconds of my time to make. My job here is done.

Also, Sting, you are not a "Noob" but I typed up my original response and a lackey edited it to today's linguistic style and apparently, that is a Chamus to Internet translation.

I am hoping I never meet the man who posted this thread. Not even on the Forum someplace else.
