Just wondering if the 2006 dts's have the same head gasket problems, or should I say head bolt problem that causes the head gasket problem to occur, such as in my 99sts or has the problem been solved on the newer models? Thanks for any and all help.

Consider that your post is the first in CF to ask a headgasket question for an engine after 2001. You can juggle that two ways: 1. They fixed the problem. 2. Not enough post-2001 units in the field to fail yet.
You might snoop around upstairs and see what the johnny-come-latelys are saying.....
Head bolt length and thread pitch was changed around 2000 so failures seem to be much less than the '90's engines.
The bolts got longer in 2000 and the pitch changed in 2004
Problem was mostly solved in 2000 and completely solved by 2004
BUT no engine is 100% immune to head (or other gasket issues)
Beyond the bolt length and pitch, GM also improved the aluminum casting so they don't turn to powder like they could before...
